Social Media Marketing

Posted by Amir Nazir at 04 Feb, 2018

Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms and websites to promote a product or service. Although the terms e-marketing and digital marketing are still dominant in academia, social media marketing is becoming more popular for both practitioners and researchers. Most social media platforms have built-in data analytics tools, which enable companies to track the progress, success, and engagement of ad campaigns. Companies address a range of stakeholders through social media marketing, including current and potential customers, current and potential employees, journalists, bloggers, and the general public. On a strategic level, social media marketing includes the management of a marketing campaign, governance, setting the scope (e.g. more active or passive use) and the establishment of a firm's desired social media "culture" and "tone."

Create Social Media Marketing Goals That Solve Your Biggest Challenges

The first step to any strategy is to understand what you want out of your efforts. Social media marketing isn’t about flipping a switch and calling it a day. Instead, social media planning should be looked at like cooking your favorite dish.

Social media can also be a great way to easily evaluate competitors as well, by being able to monitor their pages within the insights page. We can easily see what our competitors' strategy by the types of content they post and also see the effectiveness of it though viewing their engagements and page likes. Not only great for the own business benefits but social media is also a valuable tool to assess and beat the competition.

A social media marketing strategy is a summary of everything you plan to do and hope to achieve on social media. It guides your actions and lets you know whether you’re succeeding or failing. Every post, reply, like, and comment should serve a purpose.

The biggest benefit of social media is that you can reach to your targeted audience and you can be engaged with them and can respond them quickly.

Having compelling visuals is definitely key to gaining traction within the social sphere, though I would say that such a strategy would probably go a lot farther using image-centric social media platforms like Pinterest or Instagram. Anyhow, nice article!

query($sql_select); if ($result_select->num_rows > 0) { // output data of each row while($row = $result_select->fetch_assoc()) { //echo "id: " . $row["id"]. " - Name: " . $row["name"]. "
"; ?>
